Psalm 5 vs 3
“In the morning Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
I love how this verse describes an intentional morning with the Lord. I love the three promises it gives us:
- He hears our voice.
“You hear my voice”
When we rise early in the morning He hears us. What a privilege that the words I pray are HEARD by a mighty God, everlasting Saviour, wonderful Father.
- Early in the morning we are to lay our requests before Him.
“In the morning I lay my requests before you.”
Our heavenly Father longs for a relationship with us. As I come to Him with all my requests and needs and desires for the day, He so lovingly listens to me and desires to give me good things.
Matthew 7 vs 11
“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
- We are to wait expectantly.
“And wait expectantly.”
There are so many verses that echo these words on waiting expectantly. It is such a challenge to me to remember that when I pray I need to believe and not doubt. I need to pray with such a faith that I am waiting expectantly for the Lord to answer.
