Although I have been disciplined in rising early over the past four weeks, as I was preparing my things for this morning I felt a question in my heart:
“Are you rising intentionally?”
Even after four short weeks I realized I had stopped praying about the original reason that I had started rising early for.
The original reason was to study and pray about being a wife of noble character. I started rising early because the woman portrayed to us in Proverbs 31 gets up whilst it is still dark.
So this morning I continued on with the chapter in order to study more about this wife of noble character and came across this verse:
Proverbs 31 vs 17
“She sets about her work vigorously.”
I love how after I have been convicted about something, the Lord so often confirms His Will for me in a scripture. If I had to make a Bible translation out of this verse it would read:
“She sets about her work intentionally.”
So as I go about my day, my work as a wife and a mother, I must do so intentionally, vigorously, boldly, sincerely, earnestly, wholeheartedly. And as I go to work I must do the same.
When I rise to spend time with God tomorrow morning I must get out of bed vigorously, intentionally, sincerely, wholeheartedly and earnestly. To live intentionally. With purpose.
