Remain in Me

1 Corinthians 3 vs 6

“I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.”

As we stood outside in the hot sun yesterday afternoon, we allowed our youngest daughter to water the garden with the hosepipe that was connected to our borehole. She dragged it over to the little lemon tree that we planted about six months ago, and began to “water it”. Not knowing what she was doing she sprayed the topmost leaves only, so that the water actually landed on the ground about two meters away from the little tree, going anywhere near the roots that so desperately needed the water.

I was reminded about the importance of remaining in Christ so that we can grow and bear fruit.

John 15 vs 4-5

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

My prayer for today comes from Psalm 1.

Psalm 1 vs 1-3

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”
I pray that God will renew my delight in His law and lead and guide me so that everything I do today will be according to His will and that He will bring about much growth in my life.
