Continual Conversation

James 5 vs 13

“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.”

This is one of my favorite verses as it covers all situations that we will find ourselves in. If we are not happy and find ourselves in difficult situations, then we are to pray. And if we are happy and in a good place, we are to sing songs of praise.

The command is summed up again in Thessalonians.

1 Thessalonians 5 vs 17

“Pray continually”

God calls us to be in continual conversation with him throughout our day. If we let continuous prayer become a habit it will stop us from falling into sin and will help us overcome our struggles quickly. One cannot stay angry if they praying, one cannot continue to be selfish, unkind and impatient if they are praying. One cannot miss the will of God for their day if they are praying for Him to show them the right way.

May today be filled with praise when things are going well and filled with prayer when things are not. May the continual conversation with God keep me in the center of His Will for my life and may it lead me, guide me and change me.
