Rest In Him

Psalm 62 vs 1

“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.”

Our oldest daughter is almost three and a half. Our youngest daughter is almost two and a half. We have been in the baby room at church for almost three and a half years, and now that our older daughter is at Sunday School, we have started to venture out to the main service with just one little one to sit on our laps.

The service is still a little long for her attention span, but we are able to get through the worship part feeling as though we are part of the congregation, before heading to the room filled with toys (in a soundproof box).

Although I cannot imagine what it must be like to live in a country where you are unable to worship freely, now each Sunday when I come and worship I cannot help but feel like rejoicing out loud in front of everyone and yelling from the rooftops that I am back! I can worship!

I am sure that those who have been persecuted will never take for granted an opportunity to worship freely, and I hope I never take it for granted either. When I stand and worship my soul is reminded that it finds it’s rest in God alone. My salvation comes from Him.
