We were in the middle of a conversation when our daughter came running into the kitchen to call us to the lounge. The whole room was filled with a red glow, as the setting sun cast a brilliant display of red, orange and purple into the sky.
Usually if you look out of the lounge window, all you see is our gate, the road, and neighbour’s house. These are all quite prominent features and I have never really noticed the sky out that particular window.
But the sky that evening was so spectacular that you couldn’t help but look at it. In fact as we looked at all the different colors we didn’t even notice the gate, road or house in front of us.
It convicted me about my grumpy attitude the past few weeks. I have been finding the weather rather cold and been jealous that my husband gets to enjoy the lecturer’s privilege of being home for the holidays whilst I leave whilst its still early to get to work.
No one looking at me over the past few weeks would have seen the spectacular light that I am called to shine.
Matthew 5 vs 16
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
