I love the way that we can tell stories to our girls and see their eyes light up. I love how they are so trusting and secure in our love. When my eldest daughter was still taking naps, I liked to play a game with her. We would lie face to face and I would tell her a story and then when the story was finished we would turn around and lie back to back and have a competition to see who could fall asleep first. She was always so enthusiastic and always fast asleep after a few minutes, falling asleep easily with the comforting presence of her mother right next to her.
Matthew 11 vs 28
“Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Although I mostly spend time with God in the morning, there are those evenings where I read scripture before I fall asleep. I finish reading His Story and I turn off the light, and turn over, in much the same way my daughter used to do with me. I fall asleep easily in the comforting presence of my Father.
