I love the autobiographies by the great men of God. I love hearing about men who died with callouses on their knees from years spent in prayer, who looked after thousands of orphans and spread the gospel throughout the world. I am challenged when I read that each one has a common thread, a single factor that seemed to ignite their ability to change the world. Prayer. Rising early to pray.
I was encouraged to live my relationships in such a way that I will help others to become more holy and conformed to the image of Christ, to love God and to make Him known.
I cannot do this if I am not starting my day in His Presence. I cannot be intentional in my own strength. I need His Grace. I need His purpose for my life. I need His joy. I need to hear His Voice in the mornings so that He will lead me to live each day intentionally for Him.
Psalm 143 vs 8
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way that I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.”
